gtLevel is an automatic and cost efficient measurement system for settlement monitoring.

Operation

The gtLevel liquid levelling system is ideal for measuring elevation differences between several points. Depending on the requirements, different pressure gauges can be supplied. The gauge provided with the standard configuration has a resolution of 0.01 mbar and measures with an accuracy of ±1 mm whereas the elevation differences between the lowest and the highest point must be within a range of 100 cm. For certain cases the measuring cells can also be equipped with a gauge which is able to handle elevation differences up to 350 cm. In this case the accuracy would be within ±3 mm.

Advantages

The measuring cells are fully digital, equipped with a RS 485 interface and can be addressed via MODBUS standard fieldbus protocol. With this technology up to 128 sensors (not only gtLevel cells) can be integrated into one single circuit. Therefore the bus cable can either be laid radially or as a ring circuit.

The fluid consists of pure water with special additives which allow usage under various conditions e.g. exposure to frost or in sensitive areas where food is handled. It runs in special hoses interconnecting the measurement cells in one line. Expansion containers have to be installed at each end of the line.

Each measurement cell has a special shaped transparent reservoir with a vent screw at its top. The gauge and the electronic parts are placed below, well protected in an aluminium housing. The cell is supplied pre-assembled with flanges and sealings.

For accurate measurement, compensation parameters have to be acquired for each system. The liquid levelling system should therefor be installed and run in a test mode for at least 2 weeks before start of operation.
