What is borehole logging ?

A geophysical log is a continuous profile with depth, characterizing rock properties adjacent to a borehole or well. Collecting log data is fast and reliable. Data is displayed in real-time, as the probe is raised, for immediate analysis. Logging systems are used for groudwater development, mining, exploration, geological and geophysical research, civil engineering studies, and environmental projects.

Selling borehole loggers was the initial activity of Geotrade when it began trading in 1985. His manager, P. -A. Auberson worked for over 10 years as a logging engineer in the oil field.  Consequently, we enjoy a strong expertise in this field.

We are the exclusive agent for Switzerland, France and North Africa of Mount Sopris Instruments, a company which focuses on quality borehole geophysical instrumentation with an emphasis on reliable, functional, user-friendly systems. Mount Sopris systems are operating in over 70 countries throughout the world.

Please see below an example of log made with our Polyprobe showing 7 parameters recorded simultaneously namely : Gamma-Ray / Spontaneous Potential / Normal Resistivities 8 - 16 - 32 - 64’’ and Single Point Resistance.
